Asian Golf Awards Poll Smashes 200,000 Mark!
With just days to go before the 2018 Asian Golf Awards on-line poll wraps up, there has been a huge swell of last-minute votes that has pushed the total vote tally to surge past the 200,000 mark.
This is unprecedented in the nineteen-year history of the poll. “The last time the poll hit a record was last year when the mark was set at 104,000 valid votes,” exclaimed Alice Ho, coordinator for the poll.
The poll closes at 12 midnight on June 30 and as of 4:00pm on June 26, the vote tally stood at 200,004 valid votes. A brand new record!
“For those clubs that have not cast votes as yet, you can mobilise your forces now and catch the deadline which is a few days away,” Ho said.
The latest trend indicator has revealed some new and interesting trends with many clubs challenging the established past leaders for honours in the award roll call.
The leading nations insofar as the number of valid votes cast shows Thailand and China involved in a neck and neck battle for the top spot followed by Malaysia, Vietnam and South Korea.
Success in the polls is based on the popular vote count with the most number of votes received in a given category securing the top award.” It is important to understand that this is a popular vote process and to do well, clubs need to organise themselves to try and obtain as many votes as they possibly can from their members, guests and golfers in general,” Ho added.
The Asian Golf Awards is the only pan-Asia Pacific Award programme of its kind for the golf industry and it has established itself as both the “Oscars” for the industry and a very distinguished measure of excellence by which the industry measures its very best.
