The 2017 Asia Pacific Golf Summit started with a bang and ended with a bang in the Vietnamese city of Da Nang.

The event was unanimously declared as the best in the series so far. APGS 2017, is the 11th staging of the Asia Pacific’s premier golf business summit and will go down in the annals as the show that has set the tone and tempo for the golf club industry for the next decade in Asia.

More than 300 delegates and guests attended the three-day event which kicked off with a very successful golf tournament that had delegates renewing social contacts and friendship.

The theme for APGS 2017 was “New Directions” and the legendary golf equipment entrepreneur, the billionaire American philanthropist, opened the summit with a stirring keynote address. He proved categorically that he is the golf equipment industry’s “super rock star” and in a one-hour address, he shared with the delegates what has driven him to the highest pinnacles of success in business.

Speaking to a packed ballroom, Parsons  was inspiring, motivational and absolutely stimulating. He proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was living proof of a man who has been constantly changing and evolving in an age where “New Directions” was the mantra for success.

Parsons was honoured by the Asia Pacific Golf Group with a special, one-off award – the Global Golf Vision Award which recognises his incredible entrepreneurial flair and his success with PXG.

While in Da Nang, Parsons also donated US$100,000 towards a local golf initiative that supports junior golf development. The funds will go to the “Swing For Kids” programme and the funds come from the Renee and Bob Parsons’ Foundation.

More than 20 international speakers spoke on a variety of topics directed at providing revolutionary ideas and bold solutions as the golf industry moves forward.

One of the highlights of APGS 2017 was the Asian Golf Awards, the golf industry’s “Oscars” for Asia. There was more than 50 categories and the top awards for the night included the following:
