PGA Tour – Ups The Ante For Professional Golf In Asia

Posted By: Asia Pacific Golf Group at 24 May 2017 | Written By: Mike Sebastian

The world’s most powerful professional tour, the PGA Tour of America is poised to grow its presence in Asia. This is a very timely initiative as there is no better way to help grow the game of golf than by providing an opportunity for the public to see the game’s best players in action.

The PGA Tour now operates four offices in Asia – Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo. It stages the biggest and richest golf tournaments in Asia and these events serve as a stage to showcase the industry’s best professional players.

Recognising the Tour’s growing presence in Asia, the 2017 Asia Pacific Golf Summit (APGS 2017) is proud to inform the golf industry in Asia that it will be featuring the PGA Tour’s Todd Rhinehart, vice president and the man responsible for the multi-million dollar CIMB Classic which is staged in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. APGS 2017 will be staged in the city of Danang in Vietnam on November 14-16, 2017.

Besides this US$7 million dollar tournament which has been extended till 2020, the PGA Tour will also be staging the CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges in South Korea later this year. That event will feature a purse of US$9.25 million.

Rhinehart will be on hand to share with Asian club owners, operators and management on how the tour hopes to grow its footprint in Asia and by so doing, help to elevate the standard of the professional game.

The PGA Tour of America is one of the major organisations that is driving Asia towards “New Directions” in golf development.

There is no one better than the PGA Tour to function as a guide on how the Asian golf club industry can engage with the industry’s behemoth and bring exponential growth to golf in Asia.

Make a date with APGS 2017 – come and listen to some of the industry’s best brains in the business..
